It is with a very heavy heart that we write that Danielle peacefully passed away this evening at 5:50pm. Tony and I were most fortunate to hold her in our arms as she took her most graceful, last breathe. She fought very hard to the bitter end……and she won. We won! She is no longer suffering or struggling. She is with God and many of her mld friends. For those who wish to know arrangements will be at Spring Grove Funeral home in Spring Grove, Il. Wake Tuesday 4-8 and funeral Wednesday 10am. In lieu of flowers we ask that you make donations to the MLD Foundation in memory of Princess Danielle. Address to come or see mldfoundation.org

Dear Megan and Tony,
I just logged on and saw your entry. I left you a message on your phone Megan and posted your entry above on the MLD family discussion list for those who don’t read this blog.I hadn’t gotten very far into the entry when the tears started flowing. Dean and I are at a scientific conference and had just heard John Crowley talk earlier this evening about the strength, hope, and joy our children fighting horrible diseases teach us. Danielle taught the same strength, hope and joy that he talked about. Danielle will forever be a Princess but now she is a beautiful princess with brightly glowing angel wings! Her spirit will live on in your heart and your memory of her strength will keep you strong in the coming days, weeks and months. We feel privileged to have met her and you, her incredible parents! Our tears fall with yours. Happy Danielle is finally free to do all a little girl should do, but at the same time hurting for the void you now feel at not being able to physically hold her. She will ALWAYS be with you in your hearts, of this I’m sure for I have walked the road you now must embark on. We love you guys and we are here for you! May God hold you tight in His arms and comfort you with a peace that passes understanding.
